I have been a long time believer in the products at Incrediwear. All my clients know, if you come to me with some type of chronic injury or limitation, chances are pretty darn good I’m going to recommend you get something from Incrediwear to help with inflammation, swelling, or pain while we work on your body with Pilates to get you moving and feeling better. Especially if said injury or limitation is hindering your Pilates session or practice at home. It can be very challenging both physically and mentally (and sometimes emotionally) when you feel you can’t progress because of an injury/limitation but you know you need to move to get better. Its like a catch 22. You need to, but can’t. That’s when I seek out products from Incrediwear. To give you support while we work to make things better.
I prefer Incrediwear products to anything else on the market. Why? Because I’ve tried everything else on the market! It was late in the game when I was recommended to get a knee sleeve from Incrediwear. I wasted a lot of time, money, and pain, waiting for whatever I bought for my knee injury to work. UGH! It was frustrating and I was mad. As a mover, for me to stop moving? TORTURE! The depression that hit was even worse. Eventually I had knee surgery for a synovial tear and clean up of the debris that was floating around and everything worked out. I was so grateful for finding this company, it was really the only knee sleeve that worked to reduce the pain, fluid migration, and swelling that I had. The surgery was 8 months after the initial injury, which felt like a lifetime. I spent my time doing Pilates focused physical therapy and trigger point myofacial work. Which led to amazing post-op recovery and healing. Today I have zero lasting effects from this ordeal. And I do know that there was no way I could have done any of that pre-surgery work without that sleeve.
After surgery and recovery, I made it back to work. Oh happy day! I occasionally wore the knee sleeve as I eased back into a schedule working on my feet, standing for long periods of time. Until such time as I didn’t need it anymore. As I worked with clients, it seemed like everyday I was encountering people with knee issues or injuries. I would tell them my story and said you really need to try this knee sleeve! They’d get it, wear it and experienced phenomenal results, just as I had. Even though the injury itself may have been different from mine. It just proved to me over and over, what a remarkable product it was.
Later, I noticed clients with other types of issues, things like arthritis in the hands so bad that the client could no longer use her hands on the footbar and would modify using forearms. We discussed what was happening, why she was choosing this as an option and how only doing forearm work was not helping any of the muscles from the elbow down. You don’t use it, you lose it. You cannot have wrist and hand strength if you are not utilizing these muscles. But when you have arthritis, what can you do? Get a pair of Incrediwear gloves! She wore them when she slept at night and immediately noticed a significant difference in her ability to open her hand and extend the fingers. And it wasn’t too long after that she was able to return to hands on footbar Pilates exercises. We did start with lighter stability exercises like Elephant, then progressed through the long spine series until she no longer needed any modifications. To me and to her this was a HUGE WIN!
The more I saw clients use a variety of different products for a variety of different aliments and injuries, the more evidence I was seeing that these really work. From there I went on a research quest to figure out the why. Why were these products working where other companies’ products were not? That’s when I found my second best and favorite part about Incrediwear! They are evidence based. What’s that mean? It means they are using independent third parties to research their products and file study findings. Like, what?! You’re serious? Evidence based medicine is AWESOME! As a former medical researcher, this is music to my ears! And I love that they openly share study findings in their product information and on the website. They also go into detail on how the technology works. If you want more details, please check out their site. Its just fantastic! https://incrediwear.com/?ref=RTGjcMNdHUOA1

Let’s talk about the back brace vs the body sleeve and the difference between them. I actually have both of these and used them for different issues. I first purchased the back brace after my Tarlov Cyst diagnosis. I was in constant pain, it was part of the injury that I suffered in 2016 along with the knee. The MRI for my spine came after the knee surgery and I felt hopeless about my future as there were limited medical options for treatment. That is when I began my journey to heal myself through any non-surgical means possible. Surgery for Tarlov Cysts is not always successful. I felt if I could support my spine while rehabbing it and using Pilates, maybe I’d have a chance at a normal life. I used the brace when I felt like my spine needed the support. And it helped as my spine had been so unstable, inflamed, and painful. It took about 4 years, but I stayed on it and stayed consistent and it got better. To the point where I needed the brace less and less. Recently, I had kidney surgery. I purchased the body sleeve after reading about a case study done using the sleeve for a patient that was s/p bilateral mastectomy. The patient was instructed to wear the sleeve pulled up over the chest. She experienced an acceleration in her healing and recovery. They also showed a case study of a patient who had facial radiation for skin cancer. The photos from that study will blow your mind. Eight hours after wearing a strip of fabric on the face showed again, amazing acceleration in healing. I used the body sleeve after my renal surgery and was blown away by how quickly I healed. You know, when you use a product for an injury, that’s one thing. When you can use that same product for healing from surgery on an internal organ and it has the same recovery effect?! It literally floored me! I was able to be up and about sooner, move better, feel better, get off all the pain medications sooner and now have regained 100% function in both kidneys. Really, I’ve never felt better and am back to a normal daily and workout routine.
So depending on if you suffer from low back pain, the brace may be a better option if you need stabilization. However, if that’s not the issue, I highly recommend the body sleeve. And you can pull it up or pull it down to cover whatever area of the trunk of the body that needs to heal and recover. Whether its spinal, organ, upper chest, or lower trunk, it will work. And I cannot be more grateful for the healing and recovery I have experienced.
